Is money the best measure for a happy life?

The getting of money is a primary driver for  going to work each day and purchasing the necessities to run a household.  But is it the best measure for enduring happiness and for building self esteem.

It’s not unusual for the materially well-off to be philanthropic. In fact Dick Smith would say the well-to-do need to feel more obligated to give back – to contribute to the common good.  After all these people rely on nature for all the materials used in the making of products and the absorption of the ‘waste’ when we’re done with it – see other posts, especially in the Circular Economy section.
