Conservation works at Munibung Creek

Conservation works along Munibung Creek
It’s been a long time in the planning phase, but the word is out that a section of the creek is to get some long overdue care and attention.

Hunter Water will begin to rehabilitate the southern section of Munibung Creek – between Pendlebury Road and 75 Lachlan Road, Cardiff, in the coming months. This work is necessary to stabilise the creek bank and improve the environment.

The rehabilitation of our creeks and waterways not only protects and preserves biodiversity but also encourages people to respect our natural spaces so they can be enjoyed for many years to come.

Minor work to prepare for construction, including vegetation management and clearing, will begin from December 2024. Main works to rehabilitate the southern section of the creek with a naturalised design will begin from mid-January 2025, with nearby and affected residents to be contacted by the project team regarding the works.
